Whereas My Eyes Rest on the Ground

“Whereas My Eyes Rest on the Ground”, a group show, exploring how we relate back to the landscape through dreams, narratives and drawing from what we see. This exhibition is a collection of fragments of moments of touch, sound and lyrical line work as each artist creates work in dialogue with its surroundings. Through this show, we link our work back to the environment which surrounds us, working between layered abstract mark-making and exploring the landscape through the lens of distortion.
This show is a fragmented recreation of an exhibition held in the landscape outside of Glasgow. “Whereas My Eyes Rest on the Ground” rehangs the work in a conventional gallery setting, while bringing in notes of sound and texture and offering a piece of something that came before. Exploring how our gazes change, moments are manipulated through drawing and how narratives and histories can be approached in painting.
Exhibiting artists: Aurora Bucca, Anna de Suza, Amy Sandler, Barnaby Wessell, Coraline Chen, Ines Hugle and Allegra Lavinia Fleur.
